NEMO
The brilliant bicycles exhibition
During my internship at the NEMO Science Museum, I focused on designing the Brilliant Bicycles exhibition. I created a range of media for this project, Making it a major and exciting highlight of my internship experience.
Brilliant Bicycles
The summer of 2019, NEMO Science Museum celebrates the bicycle, a symbol of Dutch culture, by transforming the Event Hall into a cycling paradise. Visitors of all ages can participate in hands-on workshops.
Featuring interactive installations inspired by the evolution of the bicycle. Brilliant bicycles opened with a special ceremony led by Amsterdam's Junior and Bicycle Mayors.
For Brilliant Bicycles, I designed various window stickers that align with the exhibition's theme. Featuring a mix of bicycle tires from different eras and styles, the designs come together to form an organic and dynamic visual that reflects the evolution of cycling.
The space
I was also involved in the design of the exhibition objects, where I played a key role in selecting the color palette, arranging the composition and planning the overall styling.
The stickers are strategically placed to ensure they are clearly visible from the outside, inviting passersby to step inside and explore further.
Signs
To indicate where the workshops were taking place, I created signs that made it easy for visitors to find the activities. All the signs followed the same style, featuring different icons to clearly guide participants to each area.
Window
Sticker
I also created media for other workshops, including a massive sticker for the windows, which are 4 meters high! For this design, I played with open circles, allowing people to sneak a glimpse inside.
